Why do you need 10 make-ahead breakfasts? Well, let’s start with why you need breakfast at all.

Breakfast: the meal that literally breaks the fasting of the night’s rest. “They” say it’s the healthiest meal of the day, ya know. Who is “they”?

Well in this case, it’s just about any expert in health or nutrition you care to ask.

According to John’s Hopkins (www.hopkinsmedicine.org), eating breakfast helps your heart, your brain, your weight, your energy, your focus, your digestion, your bones, and your metabolism, just to name a few.

Have I convinced you to eat a healthy breakfast every day yet? Well, either way, convincing people that healthy breakfast is important is not as hard as showing them how to actually do it. The phrase “easier said than done” comes to mind.

Well, yes and no. Like other health choices, the choice to eat breakfast, for some, requires a shift in priorities. Sacrifice a little sleep, perhaps (GAH! NO! You can have my sleep when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.) Okay, so you want to preserve your sleep. (Is now a good time to mention that eating a healthy breakfast improves your sleep quality? no? Okay.)

If you are willing to put in a little work once a week to create your own easy grab and go healthy breakfasts, you’ll actually save time in the long run.  You won’t be sitting in the drive through line,
you’ll save yourself money, and you’ll be benefitting your health!

10 Make-Ahead Breakfast Recipes

1. Healthy Toaster Waffles

Just like the famous Eggo®, these are just a toaster away from a good time. Unlike Kellogg’s, these use 100% whole grains, no preservatives, and no refined sugars. The Dash® mini waffle baker is the perfect size to mimic Eggos®.

2. Healthy Overnight Oats

If you’re skeptical about cold oatmeal, you’re not alone. That is the number one most common hesitation we see in our challenge groups (based on our books). But, fear not! This quote-unquote cold oatmeal is hugely delicious and satisfying, even for our pickiest critics, once they try it, that is.

3. Instant Pot Bacon Gouda Egg Bites

Yep! We 100% swiped the Starbucks idea for this and made it healthier and cheaper. You can still get your Starbucks coffee, though, we won’t tell.

4. Steak and Egg Breakfast Wraps

Another Starbucks breakfast copycat, these breakfast wraps are actually pretty simple to make yourself and are freezable for easy grab and go. Microwave them on the way out the door or once you get to work. Easy peasy.

5. Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

These are worth the extra legwork of finding or making a clean granola. They are loaded with flavor and protein, probiotics, fiber, healthy fats, and a super satisfying crunch. Grab these special reusable parfait cups to keep the granola separate (and crunchy) from your parfaits until you’re ready to eat.

You could also try this one using the protein granola below (recipe 10).

6. Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuits

Why pay drive through prices when you can make your own? With these (and the others in this make-ahead breakfast lineup), you don’t need the convenience of the drive thru because they are ready to go in the morning! Save money and time.

7. French Toast Sticks

Perfect for your little dipper, the “star” of your life, these french toast sticks are easy to grab for little hands but also for the Snacky McSnackerson in all of us.

8. DIY Instant Oatmeal Packets

Most commercially available instant oatmeal packets are loaded with refined sugars and preservatives, turning what should be a healthy breakfast of oatmeal into an unclean choice. Whipping up a batch of these doesn’t take long at all and stocks you with a healthier alternative to instant oatmeal packets, without sacrificing the ease and convenience.

9. Breakfast Burritos

Who doesn’t love a breakfast burrito? Do I really need to introduce the simple yet tasty and also freezable healthy breakfast option? No? Cool.

10. Protein Granola

This is a new recipe to our site, but not new to our challengers. We first saw this recipe in our second cookbook 28 Days To Clean Express. It was a huge hit with the test group and with challengers, so we wanted to make it public. It’s gluten free, grain free, refined-sugar free, and tastes amazing! PS would be great in the parfaits above.
