I want you to listen, and listen very closely: I am hereby giving you permission to have some snacks. Snacking can be a healthy way to maintain a steady blood sugar level, which helps stave off cravings, helps speed up metabolisms, and keeps you from being miserable as you’re on your health journey.
The Secret To Snacking
The important thing is to remember to keep your snacks healthy. The snack food industry has done a really great job of convincing us that snack food has to come in a box or a bag, and has to have a TV commercial, but truthfully, the best snacks don’t have their own marketing department. Let’s call it “The Grocery Store’s Best-Kept Secret.”
The best and most ﬁlling snacks will have a good mix of macro-nutrients: carbs, protein, and fats.
Some Great Snacks
We’ve put a few of our favorite snacks together for you, to give you ideas, but this is not an all inclusive list. Anything you ﬁnd on the green tier is fair game for between-meal-grazing.
Feel free to pre-package your snacks so they are easy to grab when you’re hungry or when you’re headed out the door.

Popcorn can be a simple, portable, and convenient snack for just about any time. We’re not talking about microwave popcorn though, so don’t get confused. It’s easy and even more tasty when you pop your own. Check out THIS POST to see how. It’s easier than you think. Just pop up a bunch and divide it into individual servings to grab any time.
We’ve always been a big fan of Lara Bars around here. Why? Because MOST of their flavors are just fruit, nuts, and spices. No junk! You still have to watch because they have come out with some varieties with chocolate chips as well as some spin offs like their Uber line that has things like Brown Rice Syrup and other ingredients that are yellow tier or worse. Stick with the original line and you’re all good.
Wella Bars are a great snack just like Lara Bars. They do use honey and maple syrup often, so you’ll need to count that against your yellow tier, but usually it’s not enough to break the bank on your 10% for the day.

VEGGIES WITH RANCH OR HUMMUS
Veggies are often better with a little dip, right? Well, hummus is usually pretty easy to find with green tier ingredients so that is one good option. Ranch is a little more difficult. So, just make your own with THIS RECIPE!
