8cups100% Whole Grain Breadno high fructose corn syrup
1 1/2cupsmilknon-dairy milk is fine
8egg
1/2cuppure maple syrupor honey, divided
2tspcinnamon
1tspvanilla extract
1/2cuppecanschopped
8ozcream cheesesoftened
Instructions
All methods:
Grease 13X9 casserole dish with cooking spray. (If using a foil casserole pan, there is no need to grease it first.) Cube bread and add to casserole. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, milk, 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.
Pour egg mixture over bread. Top with pecans. Proceed as directed below according to desired preparation method:
To Cook Immediately
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
While casserole is baking, combined softened cream cheese with remaining 1/4 cup maple syrup in a blender. Blend until smooth. Spread cream cheese mixture over casserole when it's done baking.
To Freeze
Cover tightly with foil and freeze.
To Cook After Freezing
Thaw completely. Remove cover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
