Planning to Cheat?

The fabulous Lisa Madson and I just finished 90 days of Body Beast with very strict eating and resolve like neither of us have had in a long time. It was awesome.

With that, we PLANNED a “cheat” nigh to celebrate our accomplishments. In this cheat night, our meals tonight will NOT be 90/10.

PLANNING TO CHEAT-

Here are some thoughts on that:

1) I don’t recommend rewarding yourself with food on a regular basis. We are more or less rewarding ourselves with beer because we love beer. If you do this kind of reward, don’t do it very often. Try to use other things besides food for rewards as much as possible but I believe it is ok once in a while to let it go to celebrate.

2) Notice that this is PLANNED. We aren’t heading out to dinner without a plan and then falling into a trap of eating something we didn’t want to. There is a huge difference. We are 100% in CONTROL of this planned “cheat”.

3) It’s been 90 DAYS since we have done anything like this. If we did that all year long, we would only have 4 big cheats a year. That isn’t going to mess with your results. 4 cheats a MONTH will mess with your results though…so don’t do this all the time.

I hope that helps you with the mindset we use on red tier foods, going over your 10% from the yellow tier (2 or 3 beers anyone?), and being in control of what goes in your mouth.
