Make garlic bread like an Italian grandmother with this healthy garlic bread recipe! Start with some great bread, like our 100% Whole Wheat Baguettes or Jim’s Authentic French Baguettes, and the rest is a breeze.

Now, I’m not saying that the bread is the best part of the meal, but the bread is kind of the best part of the meal. This lovely, buttery, garlicky, crunchy and chewy toasted bread is no exception. It might just outshine the entreé! The Italian seasoning gives it just the right amount of flavor and attractive green specks to make you feel like you’re in an Italian restaurant.

  1. Preheat broiler. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice bread about 1 inch thick. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Sprinkle with italian seasoning and garlic powder. Broil 2-3 minutes or until edges turn brown.
Recipe Notes

If you can't find 100% whole wheat french bread, you can make your own with this recipe, or just use regular 100% whole grain sliced sandwich bread instead.  Sliced sandwich bread won't be as authentic, but it will still be delicious!
