Happy Independence Day!

Here at the 90/10 Nutrition Kitchen, we realize that holidays can be a challenging time to stay on track with your goals.  Independence Day BBQs are full of burgers, mayonnaise laden salads and alcoholic drinks.

 

Remember that 90/10 Nutrition is a lifestyle, not a diet or a fad, so don’t beat yourself up if you want to use that 10% to indulge a bit this weekend.  Making 90/10 Nutrition a daily lifestyle means that you don’t have to give up all of your favorite items forever, instead consider healthy alternatives, enjoy those things in moderation and reevaluate your relationship with food.

 

We’ve found a great recipe that would be a perfect addition to any BBQ all summer long!

Instructions
  1. Heat a grill or grill pan over high heat until very hot. Two at a time, grill watermelon rounds, turning once, until charred (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  2. Transfer watermelon to a cutting board and remove rind; cut rounds into wedges.
  3. Arrange watermelon on a serving platter; sprinkle with mint and feta.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and vinegar, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
